CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are two distinct synthetic peptides that are commonly sold and reconstituted together as a single blend, even though they are structurally unrelated. CJC-1295 is a modified 30-amino-acid analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH); Ipamorelin is a separate 5-amino-acid pentapeptide from a different peptide family. Neither is an approved drug — both are sold and studied as research chemicals.

CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin in plain English
Both compounds here are peptides — short chains of amino acids — but at very different lengths.
CJC-1295 starts from the same natural hormone as Sermorelin — growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) — but modifies the short active fragment with extra chemistry designed to make it more stable in the bloodstream. At 30 amino acids, it is one amino acid longer than the unmodified fragment, plus the added stabilising chemistry.
Ipamorelin is a much shorter chain — just 5 amino acids — built to fit a completely different receptor, the one that a hunger-related hormone called ghrelin normally binds. Peptides that target this receptor are called ghrelin-receptor agonists or growth hormone secretagogues.
Because the two act on different receptors in the same signalling pathway, vendors frequently package them together as a “blend” in one vial. That’s a supply-chain convenience, not evidence that they are the same substance — read the name as two separate lab-made peptides sold side by side.
Both usually arrive as a small glass vial of white powder. The powder is peptide with the water removed (freeze-dried, or “lyophilised”) so it stays stable in storage. On its own the powder can’t be measured into a syringe — there’s no volume to draw. That’s why the next step, reconstitution, exists.
The science, a little deeper
A few specifics that the plain-English version glosses over:
- CJC-1295 is a defined, modified sequence. It is based on the 1-29 fragment of GHRH (the same fragment Sermorelin copies unmodified) with amino acid substitutions and, in some versions, a chemical tag called DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) that lets the molecule bind to albumin in blood. Versions without that tag are sometimes labelled “CJC-1295 without DAC” or “Mod GRF 1-29” — read vial labels carefully, since these are not identical.
- Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide, a distinct structural class. Its five amino acids include synthetic (non-natural) residues, which is part of what distinguishes it, chemically, from a natural hormone fragment. It belongs to the ghrelin-receptor agonist family, alongside other growth hormone secretagogues.
- “Research chemical” is a regulatory status, not a marketing word. Neither CJC-1295 nor Ipamorelin has been approved as a drug for any indication. Most of what’s published about either is preclinical — laboratory and animal studies — and this page makes no claim about what either compound does in people.
